DHCC Regulations

The Dubai Healthcare Authority oversees the registration and licensing of companies in the DHCC free zone.

Three main types of business entities are recognized by the company registry unit, and they include the following. 

  • Freezone Limited Liability Companies (FZ- LLC)
  • Branch Offices of UAE companies
  • Branch Offices of foreign companies.

The Freezone Limited Liability Companies (FZ-LLC) are bound to follow the minimum paid-up capital requirements.

  • Clinical facilities must have a minimum paid-up capital of AED 100,000
  • Non-clinical facilities must have a minimum paid-up capital of AED 50,000.
  • Hospitals must have a minimum paid-up capital of AED 300,000.
  • Hotels must meet the following requirements
      • 3-star hotels must have a minimum paid-up capital of AED 1 million.
      • 4-star hotels must have a minimum paid-up capital of AED 2 million.
      • 5-star hotels must have a minimum paid-up capital of AED 3 million.

To set up branches of UAE companies and foreign companies in the UAE, minimum capital requirements do not apply.

DHCC Freezone offers licenses for the following activities. 
  • Facility license, to be renewed every two years.
  • Industrial license for doctors and nurses should be renewed every two years.
  • Commercial license must be renewed every year.
